Conversion of The Old Dairy for Framework Housing |
- Client : Framework Housing Association
- Budget : £950,000
- Allan Joyce Architects worked as employer's agent on the conversion of The Old Dairy in Newark. The building is not listed but is considered to be of historical interest locally and so there were restrictions on the level of work undertaken. Existing openings were used wherever possible and when the rear extension was demolished to make room for parking, the rebuilt section had to match in materials and general scale.
- The ground floor level had to be kept high to be above the flood risk level.
- There are 10 flats, all one bedroom, which are classed as "move on" accommodation for users moving from Russell House, also in Newark and run by Framework.
