Contemporary extension to Victorian house |

- The house is an important conservation area situated close to the city centre in Nottingham. It contains many fine examples of Victorian architecture, many of which have been subdivided into flats and apartments, and have had their gardens sold for development. This house remains intact as a single family house with a large south facing garden. The brief to the architect, Annie Duquemin, was to design a spa and gym area accessible through the existing house basement which opened onto the garden and a new private roof terrace. The innovative design has a curved roof clad in stainless steel. It received support from the City Council and is now well used by the family who occupy the house.
