New housing development in Shropshire |
- Client : Bennett Homes
- Budget : £not disclosed
- The site for the development was highly sensitive; in the centre of a rural market town in Shropshire, within a conservation area and next to a World Heritage site. Allan Joyce Architects undertook a long period of negotiation with the local MP, the town council and the local civic society, giving presentations to show how the development would look and its impact on surrounding buildings.
- An archaeological study also had to be carried out because an old barn had to be demolished to allow the development of 24 2,3, and 4 bed houses and 2 apartments to proceed.
- Finally in early 2006 planning permission was granted and we are currently working on the detailed drawings in readiness for the project to start on site.
