Architects for the Jewish Centre in Leeds were West and Machell who are also based in Leeds. The building is a community and residential centre for the elderly. AJA won a competition to design the interiors by submitting mood boards and computer generated perspectives of their ideas.
The interior design project included floor, wall and ceiling finishes, contract upgrades, a lighting specification and fitted furniture in the bar and reception area. Glass block walls, which form a major part of the scheme, were also designed by AJA.
The project designer, Louisa Mackley, produced mood and sample boards for the client to appreciate the quality of the design, together with 3D computer images and furniture layouts.
The installation was done by the client themselves.
