New studio for graphic designers Michon design

Michon design studio before and after

  • Client : Michon Design
  • Budget : £350,000
  • Allan Joyce Architects designed and have now completed the construction of a new graphic design studio for Michon Design, a company of graphic designers who were originally based in West Bridgford, Nottingham.
  • Project architect Toby Evison has originally produced a series of 3D images to show the client his ideas for the refurbishment. The design is largely open plan, taking full advantage of the large spaces within the old hall. Reception is at ground floor level and the studio is situated on a mezzanine supported on a new steel frame which has been inserted into the existing fabric.
  • The build has taken place within the redundant St Mary's church hall which became vacant when the church applied for permission to build a new hall across the road. AJA are designing this building as well. Externally, the new studio is  characterised by a new projecting bay clad in oak boarding which marks the main entrance.
  • Allan Joyce Architects have acted as project managers as well as designers for the project, organising a series of subcontractors and overseeing the budget.
