New hall for St Mary's Church Radcliffe on Trent |
- Client : St Marys PCC
- Budget : £800,000
- The planning application for the new hall for St Marys Church proved to be controversial due to its siting in relation to the grade 2 listed church. However, it was won at appeal and the planning inspector commented that "the proposed church hall........would be a building of architectural quality and its materials would compliment the adjacent grade 2 listed church. Furthermore, the church would remain the dominant building with views along the street not being blocked by the proposal".
- Partner in charge, Tricia Akers and project architect Craig Beech used 3D models and photo montages to assist with the planning appeal. This helped local residents and lay members of the council to understand the proposal.
- The hall was recently opened by the Bishop of Southwell after a year long construction period. The main Contractor was A and S Enterprises from Staffordshire. All the activities planned for the new hall will be commencing in September.
