- The village is in the green belt of Nottinghamshire. The site had permission for a single house but the client wanted a more contemporary design than other new houses which were being built within the village. Architect Clive Hewitt successfully negotiated a permission for the new house with the local Planning Authority. The new house is clad in brick and cedar and has softwood stained windows and doors. The interior is open plan with a central void linking ground and first floors and letting light flood into the interior. The first floor balcony punches through the cedar and has a glazed guarding
