- Client : Framework Housing Association, Nottingham
- Budget : £900,000
- The client had owned the nineteenth century Grade 2 listed former chapel for some time and had been using it as a drop in centre. They applied for Heritage funding but were unsuccessful and so independently funded the conversion to 24 studio type flats which are in the supported housing category.
- The conversion was carried out by inserting a new 3 storey timber frame into the existing shell of the building. The original fabric of the chapel was sensitively repaired including restoration of the timber sash windows.
- Project architect Mike Harrison worked closely with the local conservation officer to agree details and was thrilled when the scheme was given an award by the Nottingham Civic Society and was opened by the Duke of Gloucester.
