Allan Joyce Architects working with primary schools |

- Client : Nottinghamshire CC or Nottingham City Council or various projects working directly for the school
- Budget : £50,000 to £250,000
- We have worked with both the County and City councils in Nottinghamshire for twenty years on a variety of commissions. The practice has a long experience of dealing with professional clients and the sevice that they expect. We have designed new stand alone buildings to solve accommodation problems for schools such as Middleton and extensions at Walter Halls, both city primary schools. Also illustrated is an extension to Lowes Wong school in Southwell.
- In all cases, AJA worked closely with the client to develop the brief, and on some projects, alternative, more practical solutions were found to the problems encountered. Where the practice has worked directly for a school, we have been able to give support to the staff whose experience of engaging architects and contractors is very limited. We offer a supportive service and can help schools understand and work their way through the bureaucracy involved.
- To help the small users of the building enjoy their surroundings, the practice has designed some features within their schemes which are child orientated ; spiders web fencing, a face on the wall, a store room built to look like a castle etc etc.
