Client – Nottingham City Council / Confetti

Completion – September 2009 Budget – £0.8 Million

When Confetti took over the building in 2008 it had been sub-divided into a number of small textile manufacturing units with basic services and limited accessibility. Their brief for redeveloping the building was to provide a number of high quality fully serviced spaces for creative businesses along with associated facilities including a restaurant and bar.

The building was first stripped back to the original structure to allow the replacement of fire protection and services. Two new fully accessible stairs and a new lift were introduced to improve access and circulation around the building. Energy efficient mechanical services and lighting were installed and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access provided to all spaces.

The outside of the building was cleaned, repointed and damaged windows replaced and a new entrance formed in what was a dingy loading bay providing level access into the building for the first time. On the upper floors acoustic walls were constructed to sub-divide the space into a number of units all with natural light and ventilation. Finally what was a dingy under used storage space in the basement has been converted to a high spec sound post-production facility.
