Shropshire Client : Chris Williams The developer purchased the site with a view to building a house for himself, a house for some friends and a house to sell on. Project architect Clive Hewitt made full use of the beautiful, south facing site which is on the edge of an SSI. The houses are aligned across the slope and step down it with roofs following the angle of the hill. This gives maximum interest internally and visually gives the houses a lower impact upon the site . Access to the site was difficult as it had to follow the track of a local "rupp" and the architects were involved in lengthy negotiations with the Local Authority to ensure that the access could be achieved and its character was not compromised. |
