Brooklands Drive The clients purchased this 1960s property purely due to its location. They met AJA at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show and commissioned them in June 2007 to 'transform' the house. Extensions and alterations to the front and rear were considered to be within permitted development rights and planning permission was not required. A new slate roof, render and aluminium/timber windows gave a contemporary new look. Simple 'eco' additions such as the glazed front porch passively heats the house on sunny days and the solar panel provides the hot water during the summer months. The cedar projecting bay to the rear brings the garden into the master bedroom. |
