Lighthouse The client purchased a site with Planning Consent and approached Allan Joyce Architects as they wanted to redesign the proposal to suit their own needs and desired a contemporary design which maximized the long range views. AJA proposed a 3 storey dwelling built into the slope of the hill with the living spaces on the middle floor. Terraces and balconies are provided at each level to allow the client extended views over the Surrey countryside. The project is conceived to maximize energy use with extra thick insulation, rainwater harvesting, solar heated hot water, triple glazed windows and whole house heat recovery. Construction commenced November 2007 and is due to be completed January 2009. |
