Allan Joyce Architects was set up just over 25 years ago. We celebrated our anniversary by entering a charity event to abseil down the 15 storey tower building on the Nottingham University campus and we regularly hold social events throughout the year. We take part in the annual East Midlands Architecture Week by inviting schools and colleges to take part in design related activities and exhibit at the Grand Designs and Daily Telegraph Homebuild shows at the NEC.

The practice has been very successful in winning awards during the 25 years of its existence. Amongst others, we have won the following:

  • Times Touche Ross Community Award
  • Lord Mayor's Award (Nottingham) on several occasions
  • RIBA East Midlands Energy Initiative Award
  • Harry Johnson Award (Nottingham Building Preservation Trust)
  • Nottingham Civic Society Commendation on several occasions.
  • Regional winners and national runners-up in the RICS award for Sustainability

Our practice currently employs twenty people including ten architects, an interior designer, CDM Coordinator, Code for Sustainable Homes assessor, landscape designer and an admin team of three. We work in an old bank building that we converted into an office in 1988. The open plan office exudes energy, with an atmosphere of creativity as ideas are exchanged and discussed.
